Lens Care Tips

Lens are very costly & soft so we should care in very proper manner like the way insert lens into eye or remove from eyes.

• Always wash and rinse your hands thoroughly before you handle your lenses.

• To avoid getting your lenses mixed up, always apply (or remove) your lenses, one at a time, in the same order.

• Never use eye drops or solutions that aren’t specifically for contact lenses.

• Don’t use saliva to try and wet or clean your lenses.

• Don’t sleep in your lenses (unless you wear lenses that are specifically designed for continuous wear and your eye care professional has prescribed them for that wear schedule).

• Clean, rinse and disinfect your lenses every time you remove them.

• Keep all your solution bottles tightly capped when you’re not using them.

• Don’t let the tip of solution bottles touch any surface (including your fingers, eyes or lenses).

• Never use expired lens solutions.

• Never re-use lens solutions.

• Never swap lenses with someone else.

• Rinse your lens case every day and let it air-dry.

• Replace your lens case every three months (or more frequently).

• Don’t let cosmetics like soap, makeup, moisturizers or sunscreen touch your lenses.

• Never wear your lenses when you’re going to be around irritating fumes or vapors (paint, hairspray, oven cleaner, etc.)

• Don’t swim or go in a hot tub while wearing your lenses.

Inserting your lens

If the edges of your lens turn out, it is inside out. To correct this,

Inserted lens

• Close nearby drains.

• Pour the right lens and storage solution from the case into your palm. (It is a good idea to get in the habit of always working with the right lens first to avoid mix-ups).

• Make sure your fingers are clean and dry. (Dry fingers facilitate the handling since soft contact leneses tend to stick to wet fingers.)

• Place the right lens on the tip of your index finger.

• Using the middle finger of your other hand, pull and hold your upper lid so you cannot blink.

• Pull down your lower eyelid, using the middle finger of your inserting hand.

• Look up and place the lens gently on the lower white part of your eye.

• Look down to position the lens correctly.

• Slowly release your eyelid and close your eye for a moment.

• Blink several times to centre the lens on your eye.

• Sometimes, small dust particles trapped behind the lens during its placement can cause discomfort. To remove dust, slide the lens off and then back onto your cornea.

• Insert left lens following the same procedure.

Removing your lens
